Week 9 – Excuses Excuses

Week 9 – Excuses Excuses

Tuesday – Long run – 35.83km, 02:34:12, avg 4:18 km pace..
Friday – Medium run – 28.62 km, 02:05:52, avg 4:23 km pace
Saturday – Medium run – 28.37 km, 02:11:11, avg 4:37 km pace.
Total 92.82 km (57.68 km) 06:51:16.

This was my worst weeks training in a long time.  I didn’t train much and when I did train I felt awful.  So why did I feel awful?  The list of excuses:
    1. An international day trip which required a 4am start, bad nutrition and late return.
    2. Helping a friend move house, which was tiring hard work causing general fatigue.
    3. One day spent finding a leaking pipe by digging a big hole and then fixing it.
Tuesday – Long run over my usual route.  I had to stop at 30k to take a call so stopped my watch, helped me recover a bit..

Friday was a difficult run, with the previous days activities causing muscles to hurt in strange places.  Running down hills was very painful.

Saturday – Same route as Friday, just 5 minutes slower and 10 minutes off pb.  Muscles not as painful.

Overall a bad week running, but for explainable reasons. On the days I wasn’t running I tried to moderate my eating, but that seemed to result in increased fatigue when I was running.
